It is our faith that pleases God. Many are facing serious trials and tests of their faith in circumstances where it is only God who can deliver them. I am reminded in the I Chron. 14 how David was in this kind of a situation. He had been anointed king of Israel. The Philistines had set out in search for him to overtake and destroy him. David asked the Lord if he should go up against them, because he knew that without the Lord’s help there would be little to no chance of victory. In verse 11 we read of how the God of breakthrough broke through the opposition on David’s behalf! “So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, "God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water."
In the same way, my family had a recent great test of our faith during a time where there was no hope for what we were facing outside of God Himself breaking through on our behalf to save us. Having been warned in a dream that a trial was coming where there would be slim to no chance for survival, I knew whatever may come God would give me grace as in the dream I was given an assignment to intercede in prayer. An angel in the dream told me the chances for survival were very slim. When he handed me the assignment, he said, “slim to nil.” Little did I know what was about to happen three days later when my son-in-law woke me up in the morning to tell me my grandson had been in a car accident on his way home from college.
Psalm 20:6-9 "Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some boast in chariots and some in horses, But we will remember the name of the LORD, our God. They have bowed down and fallen, But we have risen and stood upright. Save, O LORD; May the King answer us in the day we call."
This was the scripture the Lord gave to me on November 7, when my grandson, Sam, had a serious roll over car accident. He was taken by helicopter to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo where he could be cared for at their level one trauma unit. The doctors gave us little to no hope of Sam pulling through for the severity of his brain injuries. Family, church family, many friends and other churches went to prayer on his behalf. Much intervention was done by the doctors to save Sam's life, but it was the power of God's healing touch that brought him back from death's door numbers of times. Doctors testified to the miracles God did in saving Sam's life and the speed of the process of healing. What a wonderful Christmas gift we have been given to have our Sam still with us! What a wonderful gift we have in just our family, church family and friends! We give Him all the glory that is due His name!
Many are going through very hard places in their lives and it is either reviving faith or bringing faith anew in their hearts! Just as the widow and her son in Elijah's time had no food, nor faith to believe, until God spoke to her through the prophet Elijah, so also are God's people letting faith arise in their hearts and lives in the midst of serious situations! She acted in faith, in spite of circumstances and all the provision they needed was amply supplied. I Kings 17:14-16, "For thus saith the LORD GOD of Israel, the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah."
Some have moved away from trusting the Lord, because of being distracted from seeking Him and fear. What is God saying in this hour? Believe Him. Anytime we step out to do something that circumstances would defy, we take a risk. Taking a faith risk is so much different, because the cruse of oil of God's promise won't fail! God will come through according to His Word as we put our trust in Him. He is trustable.
I send you this word of encouragement. Put the things you so treasure in the hand of our trustable Lord. Release it all to Him. Ask. He will give the prayer of faith needed. Use the faith God has given. Whatever He has put in your heart, stand on it and trust Him with the treasure you have placed in His hand. In spite of the way things may appear, don't shrink back. Endure the distress of change and a new faith will burn alive! Faith makes a steady path as our eyes are set on Him until we see His glory come through on our behalf! We are about to see great and marvelous things for many who seek Him!
